Here's a few ways to increase fps, and helping you pk better.
WARNING! I advise you backup the files before messing with them in case u make a mistake. Also, Your ping will be unchanged though. It's also your choice to do it, idc if u mes up your client.
(This is only removing effects, you can increase fps by getting a better computer, graphics card, etc.)
The SDG effect - Common, and annoying since everyone has it. I don't know if Zimbolt has already removed it from the downloadable client, but if it troubles you, here's how to...
Go to ur client folder/ini/3DEffect. It is a text file, and you should open it with Notepad. You'll see many paragraphs of numbers and jumble but you dont need all of them. On notepad, you should see buttons like File, Edit, Format, View, etc. Go to Edit and click Find. Choose search in the down direction, and type in dragon. You should see [goldendragon] and [dragonhate] under it. delete those two paragraphs. There's also a [reddragon] but idk what the hell that does. So BAM! SDG effect gone! The client won't read it now so it can't find text intructions to run it. Also, if you want ALL effects gone, delete everythingin it. Make sure you have a backup, just in case.
Heaven's Blessing - Annoying when someone comes to your screen and lags you. Use the same instructions as above and find [bless] instead. There's [BlessFlag] above it but idk what it does. Easy-peezy D
Nobility - Removed, so theres no point in removing these...
Weapons - WARNING! If you're desperate for less lag and your computer sucks major *ss, you have an option to remove all weapons of the game. Why? Weapons are massive lag. Imagine 10 clubs and blades gliding across your screen, the color gold and purple are EVERYWHERE. omg! and your fps is around 4-6. I've felt it many times, and I've stayed out of rumbles. When i removed this, my fps went around 15-25 then 4-10 in rumbles. What happens is, people punch out FBs and SSs and they melee with kicks. No difference in pking though, i find it funny. To do this, go to ur client folder/ini/weapon. It's a text file. Make a backup if you want. Just open it up and delete all dat shiz. then save. Weapon gone, and lag is too.
Sounds - Go to ur client and find the folder named sound. Just delete all those sounds. Why does this help? If you run Windows Media Player and conquer at the same time, it slows you down. Sounds are a part of Conquer, and it slows you down a little too. But if you liek the banging of your weapon and the orgasmic sound of a female dying, you dont have to delete them.
